Elder Clement's Mission Blog: August 18: Madness Week

I love Moves Week.

I love Moves Week more when it's over.

This week was good -- but hectic! We sent home 14 awesome missionaries who had completed their missions this week. A few of them were really good friends of mine and I was sad to see them leave.

But on Wednesday we welcomed in 22 new missionaries and, as always, they seem really prepared and nervous/excited! It was a sunny day hiking up Pratt's Hill; a contrast to yesterday when it was pouring as we hiked up. We finally got everyone assigned to trainers and off to their areas around 7pm.

On Thursday we had New Leadership Training until 3pm. One of the new district leaders is Elder Neideck, who is coming to serve in Dalkeith with us. he is from Germany and he's a great missionary!

We met a great lady on Thursday named Heather. We were tracting in an area and we decided to be cheeky and stop a man who was mowing his lawn. We had an OK conversation with him but he was pretty stubborn. While we were talking to him his sister walked out of the house and came up wanting to talk to us. --- This does not happen every day, ladies and gentlemen --- So we talked to her for a good 20 minutes and taught her about The Restoration and how the Gospel could bless her. We've taught her twice since and she's excited to prepare for baptism on the 20th of September!

Summer-Eve and Martin & Lisa are all doing well. Summer is really excited for her baptism this Saturday. She had her baptismal interview a few days ago and passed with flying colors. Unfortunately we'll be in Ireland all week, so we won't get to have frequent contact with her before the baptism! It'll be great, though. Her parents are practically long-time members even though they haven't been baptised.

Things are going great here. Life is stressful but I love every minute. I'm so blessed to have a loving family and a grace-filled Father in Heaven.
