July 14: Fancy

Hey team,

This week made me really love my mission even more. God is just so cool!

A little more than a week ago we decided to call some friends who used to be taught by missionaries -- their names are Martin and Lisa. Martin and Lisa have an awesome story about how they began learning about the Gospel and changing because of it. They have two kids and one of them was even baptised. Unfortunately timing wasn't exactly right for them in their lives and around 6 months ago they asked missionaries not to come by anymore and they took a little break.

Over the past few months we rarely kept in touch with them because it seemed like they had gone back to their normal life before and were content there. So around 9 days ago we felt it was time to call them and ask if we could come and teach them again. We did, and to our surprise they said yes!

So on Tuesday we taught them and it was fantastic. They told us all about how they had been having tons of experiences that have been nudging them back toward the Gospel and how the cherry on top was when we called them while they were watching a program on TV called 'Meet the Mormons'. They told us they were coming back to church and that they wanted to start learning again! We were really happy.

We taught them again in the middle of the week and their desires to change continue to develop. They talked about removing all of their piercings again and decorating the house with pictures of the Savior -- then their daughter, Summer, talked to us about how she wanted to be baptised. So she'll be getting baptised on August 23! Martin and Lisa's situation might take a little bit longer than that, but they're definitely headed in that direction as well. They're such a good family and so humble!

We got to go on a couple of exchanges this week -- one with the Aberdeen zone leaders and one with the Dundee zone leaders. It was great! I stayed in Dalkeith for both of them. We got to do a lot and a lot of finding -- gotta love it!

Denise is doing really well and definitely progressing. There were lots of miracles with her this week. A member family even invited her over to have dinner with them (and us) this week. It was great! She's been praying a lot about if this is right for her and she really feels that it is.

Church was great yesterday. Martin and Lisa and kids came and Denise came again. There were some great talks and lessons given, and third hour was even focused on baptism which was great for them.

Needless to say, there's much to be grateful for in my life. We're experiencing a lot of rejection, but those who endure thrive!

I appreciate the support and prayers from those of you back home who choose to think of me and the people being taught here. I really love y'all!!!!
